• Originally built in 1892, the Daniel-Harris house has been through many remodels and restorations. The current owners purchased the home in 2009. Its condition at that time was near uninhabitable. Today, the house has a beautiful new paint scheme to show off its architectural features and the inside restored to provide 21st century comforts without detracting from the 19th century design. Our home is located at 403 W. Bridge Street which is the corner of W. Bridge and Thrash Streets. We are west of the courthouse square by three blocks.

The house has three bedrooms. The kitchen, living/dining room and one bedroom and bath are reserved for the family. Two bedrooms and baths are available for use as an unhosted bed and breakfast. There is more than adequate off street parking in our concrete parking lot located in the back which can be accessed from Thrash Street. Both rooms can be approached from the back or front door. Each room has its own thermostat for heating and air conditioning. There is cable television in each bedroom and wifi in the house.

In the hallway is a coffee bar, to help start your day. There is also a refrigerator supplied with soft drinks.

The backyard had native stone patio under a beautiful native pecan tree. There is patio furniture for you enjoyment.

Country Garden Room

The Country Garden Room features two antique single beds. There are large windows which overlook the back yard and patio. The Beatrix Potter drawings were purchased in a shop on Portobello Road in London, England. The door leading to the bath was rescued from a salvage yard and the glass is original. The full bath has a nice sized shower. There is an electric fireplace for ambiance and warmth in the winter.

Victorian Suite

The Victorian Suite features a queen-sized bed with iron bed frame and brass trimmings. All the furniture and decorations have been in our family; some for many generations. There is a sitting area in the front of the fireplace. The room has its own separate outside entrance as well as entry through the study. There are two chairs and a table located on the front porch for your use. The study also features a fireplace and sitting area. The daybed is a trundle and can be used if your group is a party of four. The oversized bath features a claw-footed tub and a separate shower. The stained glass window was made by the current owner in the 1970's.
